The solution combines VDI provisioning, centralized software distribution and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) into a seamless process for standardized, secure and reproducible workspaces.
An approved and hardened Golden Image serves as the technical foundation. Based on the user's role, group membership and defined VDI profile, the appropriate virtual workspace is automatically created. The required applications, configurations, security policies and updates are then deployed automatically.
Instead of individually maintained workstations, the result is a clearly defined desired state that can be reliably reproduced at any time.
Golden Images, resource profiles, core applications, approved additional software, security policies and update levels are centrally managed and documented.
Automated Initial Provisioning
Automated initial provisioning includes:
-
Selecting the appropriate Golden Image and resource profile
-
Creating or assigning the VDI instance
-
Joining the domain
-
Registering the endpoint with UEM
-
Automatically installing approved software packages, policies and updates
-
Reporting deployment status and errors
-
Delivering the workspace in its defined desired state
Self-Service, Approvals and License Reclamation
Additional applications can be requested through a self-service and approval workflow. Depending on user roles, license availability and security requirements, approvals may involve one or multiple stages.
Once approved, the software is automatically assigned and installed. Applications that are no longer required can be removed through the same controlled process, allowing their licenses to be returned to the available license pool.
Unified Lifecycle for Virtual and Physical Workspaces
Changes, updates and workspace rebuilds are also managed according to the defined desired state.
When a VDI instance is recreated, it automatically receives the approved Golden Image, the appropriate resource profile, required applications and security policies. This reduces dependency on manual configurations and ensures consistent workspace quality throughout the entire lifecycle.
The same UEM processes can also be applied to physical Windows workstations.
This enables the provisioning and management of both virtual and physical endpoints within a unified Digital Workplace framework.
Your Benefits
Standardized workspaces, significantly reduced manual administration, controlled software distribution, transparent approval workflows and a reproducible IT environment with consistently high quality.
